Huge gallery of the best off-roaders and overlanders from SEMA 2016

Every year at SEMA, true off-road and overland adventure vehicles (and the gear that makes them possible) grow in numbers and quality. These off-roaders might not be as popular as the Brodozers, sports cars or hot rods but they are close on the heels of those categories at one of the world’s largest car shows.

The Jeep Wrangler still reigns supreme, named the "Hottest 4x4-SUV" for the seventh year in a row. While many are customized in such a way that they lose all off-road capabilities, there are almost as many that are built to truly get off the beaten path to show the potential of that Jeep "Trail Rated" badge. Way behind on the most prevalent 4x4 front, but growing in popularity each year, is the Toyota Tacoma, followed by full-size American trucks, customized for proper off-road adventure travel.
Overland vehicles, or vehicles outfitted for adventure travel, are also growing in popularity. Vehicles with roof-top-tents, or RTTs, have never been so prevalent across the entire show before. This year even featured a few impressive overland camper builds, on platforms ranging from ½ ton to commercial pickups, and even a few vans.
There wasn’t a ton of innovation in the off-road and overland accessory markets this year, but there were a few standout products in each category, most a refinement of existing products. A few stand outs were Rigid’s new ‘Adapt’ light bars, ARB’s full line of Tacoma products, the new Quick Fist Ratchet Clamp, Warn’s Epic Recovery Kit, Superwinch’s new EXP series of top of the line winches and Hi-Lift’s new roll cage mounts. By far the most innovate company in this space, again, this year is Factor 55, who launched 4 new products and received 8 SEMA awards for their efforts.
