Australian police get hybridized from BMW Sydney
BMW I8 PLUG-IN HYBRID IS LATEST IN FLASHY POLICE CAR PURCHASES

Police in New South Wales, Australia added the hybrid BMW i8 to their lineup this week. Thankfully the plug-in won't be catching speeders, just showing up at promotional events.
"This BMW is the latest in a number of different vehicles that we have utilised at Rose Bay Local Area Command to raise awareness and engage with the community," said Bradley Hodder, Rose Bay police commander. New South Wales has also used a McLaren 650S and an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
The BMW was not paid for by the taxpayers, in case you were wondering. It was donated by BMW Sydney.
“BMW Sydney has a long history in the Eastern Suburbs, which has been our home for the past 22 years and we’re extending that citizenship with the redevelopment of the BMW Sydney site,” said Simon Macedone, Dealer Principal of BMW Sydney.
The i8, Hodder says, will assume its new role within the squad immediately.
